Balance Transfer Cards

When you are up to your eyeballs in debt, signing up for a new credit card can seem like insanity. But it’s actually one of the best and easiest ways to claw your way out of that hole. Lots of cards on the market today are offering introductory interest rates of 0% — that’s right, zero percent — on balance transfers for a limited period of time after you open the account. Imagine the feeling of suddenly having a year or more to pay off your balance without having to worry about getting hit with more interest because you are taking too long.

Transferring a balance to a new card usually comes with a fee of around 3% of the balance total, but that’s probably less than the interest the balance would accumulate in just a couple months on a high interest card.
