It’s not too late for the Lufthansa Miles & More increased sign-up offer

For a limited time, Barclaycard’s Premier Miles and More World MasterCard has a terrific offer for new cardholders.  You can earn 50,000 miles for Lufthansa Airlines after spending $5,000 during the first 3 months of having the card. These miles are somewhat flexible, and can be used not only on Lufthansa Airlines, but also United Airlines, if you want to fly to Hawaii, Alaska, Mexico, the Caribbean, and more.

Apply Now: Miles & More® Premier World MasterCard®

Summary of Benefits

  • Earn 20,000 award miles after your first purchase and payment of the annual fee
  • Earn an additional 30,000 award miles when you spend $5,000 in purchases within the first 90 days of account opening
  • Earn 2 award miles per $1 on ticket purchases directly from Miles & More integrated airline partners and 1 mile per $1 on all other purchases
  • Cardholders receive a companion ticket after first purchase and payment of the annual fee and annually thereafter
  • No foreign transaction fees on purchases made outside the U.S.
  • Redeem miles for flight awards and upgrades on Lufthansa, Star Alliance member airlines, Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines, SWISS, and other partners
  • $79 Annual Fee, which is not waived for the first year

Book With Star Alliance Members

Use your miles on any Star Alliance partner, including United Airlines, Singapore Airlines, ANA, and more. This allows you greater flexibility when it comes time to redeem. You can redeem your 50,000 miles to get two domestic coach tickets on United without having to pay any fuel surcharges!

Extra Perks

Not only can you receive the benefits listed above, but there are plenty of other options for redeeming your points. Here are some examples:

  • Earn one round trip coach flight to Hawaii for 40,000 Lufthansa miles
  • Earn one round trip Business class ticket within the United States
  • Earn one round trip coach ticket to Central America

What Are the Other Options?

Since Barclays does not approve cardholders for more than one or two of their credit cards in one year, it might be in your best interest to aim for one of their other cards first. The Barclaycard Arrival Plus is a great choice, because it allows you to redeem your miles on any airline, not just Lufthansa or United Airlines.

Plus, while the Lufthansa bonus is 50,000 miles, the Barclaycard Arrival PlusTM World Elite MasterCard® does give you 40,000 bonus miles after you spend $3,000 in the first 90 days. And since they also offer you a 10% bonus on redeemed miles, it’s really like $440 in travel cash. But, take note, this offer may be phased out soon and will no longer be available, so act quickly if you are interested.

Conclusion

The latest offer from Barclays Bank, the Barclays Premier Miles and More Lufthansa card is now offering a sign-up bonus of 50,000 miles after you make your first purchase within the first 90 days after approval. The annual fee is $79, which is not waived during the first year. There is a 0% introductory APR for the first 12 month, with the APR being 15.99-24.99% for purchases.
